Stormwater CCTV Inspections in Brisbane & the Sunshine Coast Council-compliant reports.

Pipe View delivers stormwater CCTV inspections across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Ipswich and Gympie, carried out by NWP331B-qualified operators.

Our submission-ready reports are coded to WSA 05:2020 and meet local council requirements for Build Over Asset approvals and civil handovers, including Brisbane City Council, Sunshine Coast Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Ipswich City Council and Gympie Regional Council.

What we inspect

When stormwater CCTV is required.

Six situations where a coded stormwater inspection is the fastest way to satisfy an authority, close out a stage or scope a repair.

01 / 06

Council Approvals & Form 16

Councils routinely require a coded CCTV inspection before approving new works, renovations or issuing build over infrastructure approvals.

02 / 06

New Pipeline Handover

New stormwater lines need a compliant inspection to move a project on and off maintenance. We code the network and report it ready for submission.

03 / 06

Build Over & Near Assets

Build Over Asset assessments need clear footage and coded reporting confirming the condition of the existing asset before construction starts.

04 / 06

Root Intrusion & Defects

Older lines crack, offset, deform or fill with root mass. Every observation is graded to WSA 05:2020 so you can scope the repair accurately.

05 / 06

Locating & Invert Levels

EM sonde locating of buried stormwater with depth and alignment delivered as a QL-B location report. Invert levels recorded where required.

06 / 06

Asset Maintenance Programs

Scheduled condition assessment across commercial and public stormwater networks to prevent failures and avoid emergency repair costs.

The inspection

What a stormwater CCTV inspection involves.

A stormwater CCTV inspection uses a high-resolution robotic camera to assess the internal condition of an underground stormwater line. It is entirely non-invasive, so blockages, cracks, root intrusion, deformation and structural defects are identified without excavation and without disturbing the surface.

We run a 360° pan-and-tilt robotic crawler through the line from existing pits and access chambers, capturing the full network in detail. Multiple crawler configurations mean we can match the unit to the pipe rather than force one machine to cover everything. Footage is then reviewed and coded observation by observation in WinCan VX, producing a condition report graded to WSA 05:2020 that an asset owner, certifier or council can act on directly.

Whether you are closing out a stage, proving up a newly installed system, or preparing a Build Over Asset assessment, a coded inspection is the fastest defensible way to establish what is actually in the ground.

Book & Confirm

Send through the site address and any plans. We confirm scope, access points and a time window in writing before the day.

02

On-Site Inspection

A 360° pan-and-tilt robotic crawler is run through the line from existing pits and chambers, capturing the full network. EM sonde locating where it is in scope.

03

Coding & Reporting

Footage is reviewed observation by observation in WinCan VX, with defect grading and condition assessment coded to WSA 05:2020.

Common questions

Stormwater CCTV FAQs

01Are your stormwater reports accepted by council?

Yes. Reports are coded to WSA 05:2020, the Conduit Inspection Reporting Code of Australia published by the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA), and are accepted across South East Queensland, including Brisbane City Council, Sunshine Coast Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Ipswich City Council and Gympie Regional Council.

If your project is a Build Over Asset application, you can read the full process on our Build Over CCTV page.

02What do I receive after an inspection?

Most jobs are delivered within 24–48 hours of the inspection. You receive:

  • A submission-ready PDF condition report coded to WSA 05:2020
  • MP4 video footage of the inspected line
  • Still images of every recorded observation
  • Invert levels and pipeline location data where it is in scope

Examples of the reporting format are on our WinCan Reporting page.

03What pipe sizes can you inspect?

Our robotic crawlers inspect lines from 150 mm up through large-diameter trunk stormwater. Multiple crawler configurations mean the unit is matched to the pipe rather than one machine being pushed to cover everything.

Below 150 mm, send the details through and we will tell you upfront whether it suits our equipment. We would rather say so before you book than turn up and not be able to complete the works.

04How long does an inspection take?

It depends on the length of the network, the number of access points and the condition of the line. A single-site inspection is usually completed in a few hours. Larger networks, staged handovers or sites needing cleaning first can run a full day or more.

We confirm an expected time window in writing when the job is booked, so you can plan the rest of your site around it.

05Which areas do you service?

We operate daily across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Ipswich and Gympie, and everywhere in between along the South East Queensland corridor.

Projects outside the region are taken on by arrangement. Send the site address and we will confirm availability.

06How do I book an inspection?

Send through the site address and any plans using the quote form, or call 0421 712 544 direct. Plans are helpful but not essential, we can work from council mapping if you do not have them.

Once the scope is agreed we confirm access points, timing and deliverables in writing before the day, so there are no surprises when the crew arrives.
